    A new study reveals that Ireland has the second highest excise duty on alcohol in Europe, only behind Finland. A pint of beer incurs an excise of €0.55, significantly higher than €0.05 in Spain and Germany. The Drinks Industry Group of Ireland is advocating for a 10% reduction in excise to support local pubs.
