    US imposes sanctions on ICC president and lawyer

    The US has announced sanctions against Tomoko Akane, president of the International Criminal Court (ICC), and senior trial lawyer Abdoulaye Seye. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated the sanctions are part of a campaign against the ICC, which the US is not a member of. The ICC condemned the sanctions, claiming they threaten the rule of law.
