    Cost Cut Needed for Friedreich's Ataxia Drug

    The National Centre for Pharmacoeconomics (NCPE) states a significant price reduction is necessary for the Friedreich's Ataxia drug, Skyclarys, to be covered by the HSE. The projected cost of €160 million is deemed not cost-effective. Around 200 patients in Ireland are affected, and campaigners are advocating for the drug's availability despite the high costs involved.
