    Ataxia drug price must drop for HSE approval

    The National Centre for Pharmacoeconomics (NCPE) stated that a significant price reduction is necessary for the HSE to consider purchasing the drug Skyclarys for Friedreich's Ataxia. The projected cost of €160 million is deemed not cost-effective. Around 200 patients in Ireland are advocating for the drug, which is the first treatment for this rare neurological disease.
