    US, South Korea shorten military drills after Trump order

    The United States and South Korea announced that their annual military exercises will conclude a week earlier than scheduled, following President Trump's directive to scale back the drills. The Ulchi Freedom Shield exercises, aimed at preparing for potential North Korean threats, will now end on August 21 instead of August 27. North Korea criticized the drills as a threat to regional security.
