    In 2023, nearly 6,000 individuals contacted the HSE for assistance in finding a GP, indicating a significant access issue. Sinn Féin TD David Cullinane highlighted that GP access has reached a crisis point, with a 10% population growth from 2020 to 2025, while GP numbers increased by only 6.4%. The Department of Health aims to improve access and increase GP numbers.
