    Ofgem has announced a 4% increase in the energy price cap, effective from October 1, raising average household bills to £1,723 per year. This rise is attributed to higher wholesale gas prices influenced by the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. Analysts predict a further 9% increase in January, adding to financial pressures for households this winter.
