    Retail sales in the UK fell by 0.5% in July, marking a significant decline in clothing sales, which dropped by 2.7%. This decrease follows a revised growth of 0.7% in June. Economists had anticipated a smaller decline of 0.4%. Despite this, retail sales volumes increased by 1.1% over the three months leading to July.
