    Eithne Vallely, an 81-year-old renowned fiddle player, was killed in a road accident in Co Armagh. The musician, originally from Co Donegal, was struck by a lorry while walking on the Portadown Road. Vallely was a significant figure in Irish traditional music, co-founding the Armagh Pipers Club, and received numerous accolades for her contributions to the cultural community.
