    Porsche Uses Gallium Nitride in Audio Systems

    Porsche is enhancing its in-car audio systems by incorporating gallium nitride (GaN) semiconductors, developed with the University of Stuttgart. This technology, used in a 400-watt subwoofer, allows for lighter and smaller components by generating less heat. The new Burmester sound system will be implemented in production vehicles next year, with several patents already filed for the innovation.
