    New e-scooter proposals before Cabinet

    The Cabinet will discuss a proposed ban on under-18s using e-scooters, along with mandatory helmet and high visibility clothing requirements. On-the-spot fines for e-scooter offences will increase to €100, and fees for releasing detained e-scooters will double. These regulations are set to take effect in late August or early September.
