    Icelandic Voters Reject EU Membership Negotiations

    Iceland has rejected a referendum to restart negotiations for European Union membership, with 52.5% voting against and 47.5% in favor. The decision comes after a eurosceptic government ended previous talks in 2015. Opponents cited fishing rights and existing benefits from the EU's single market as reasons to remain outside the union. The vote reflects concerns over sovereignty and trade deals.
