    Mortgage Approvals Hit Two-Year Low in July

    The Bank of England reported that mortgage approvals for house purchases fell to 56,053 in July, the lowest since January 2024. This decline follows an average of about 60,800 approvals over the past six months. Meanwhile, remortgaging approvals increased slightly. The average UK house price rose by 0.2% month-on-month in August, reaching £275,465.
