    Govt faces criticism over fuel excise cuts

    The liquid fuel sector's industry body warns that the Government is 'sleepwalking into a major problem' as it plans to unwind fuel price subsidies. Temporary excise cuts on diesel and petrol are set to be phased out between September and December, despite rising fuel prices. Concerns grow over potential protests if prices exceed €2 per litre.
