    Voting is underway in Saxony-Anhalt, where the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) could become the first far-right party to gain state power since World War II. Lead candidate Ulrich Siegmund has been polling above 40%. An absolute majority would allow the AfD to bypass mainstream parties, while coalition talks may follow if they fall short.
