    Barn owl chicks born in Northern Ireland

    Conservationists in Northern Ireland celebrate the successful breeding of barn owls, with two pairs in Co Fermanagh raising five chicks each. This is above average for the species, which is under threat with fewer than 30 breeding pairs remaining in the region. Efforts by Ulster Wildlife and local farmers have helped create suitable conditions for these birds.
