    Canada has announced counter-tariffs on $20 billion worth of US goods, ranging from 15% to 50%, escalating the trade conflict with the US. The measures will take effect on September 8, matching US duties imposed on Canadian products. A $5.4 billion aid package for affected businesses and workers was also unveiled by the Canadian government.
